Day 2-Arryn

It seems that I have found a way out of my tower. Shortly after barring my door, I thought of a way to escape my keep and get down to the ground without being eaten by those things. So, I sat there for a while and thought. Maybe I could climb down? Perhaps call for help? This idea pondered in my mind for a while as I looked out the window. I looked across to my neighboring tower that was about 10 meters away. The lights were on and I didn't see as many of those things at the bottom of the tower. So, I indeed called for help by simple shouting, 'help'. Soon after the window that was even with mine opened up and I could see a worried looking girl. She had long brown hair and dirty face. As soon as she looked like she was going to say something I was overcome with relief. There was just something about her worried, yet strong face that made her seem like she was indeed going to help.

"Stand back!" she shouted at me.

I stood back away from the window as I saw her pull out a wooden, angled, hunting bow. I could see her doing something with an arrow but I was not quite sure what. Then she knocked the arrow and pulled the string back. The arrow released from her grip as she shot straight toward my window hitting the wooden frame around it. I looked at the arrow in amazement at the shot she had just made. The accuracy! I thought to myself. Connected to the arrow was a long and thick rope which led back to her window. She motioned to come toward her, making a climbing motion. I nodded and looked down at the courtyard below seeing hundreds of those things. I knew that one false move would leave me falling to a very painful death. I nervously, took my sword from it's rack and began to climb the rope. The rope was shaky and I was afraid that it would let loose at any moment. But, I eventually made it to the end and climbed into her tower.

I could see her more clearly now. Her slender body and dark green eyes. She was wearing a tightly fitted brown ranging uniform.

"Thank you," I said as I knelt down in honor.

"Stand up to fool," she said strongly. But when I looked at her she was smiling.

But I did no such thing. I instead stared at her grimly wondering how she was still joking and happy on a night like this.

"Well, I see you are in no mood for jokes. I'm not either, but I thought I would just try to...lighten the mood," she said, "My name is Arryn."

"Yes, and mine is Reginald," I said standing up.

"Well, Reginald, we need need to find a way out of here," she said smiling.

"Indeed so, but I need some rest first," I said.

"Hmph. Yes, I could use some rest too. We will talk afterwards. You can sleep on the bed."

Ordinarily I would have offered the bed to her, but she seemed almost as if she didn't want the bed. So I nodded and went to sleep. As I drifted off in sleep, I saw her scale the wall quickly, and jump into something that resembled a sort of hammock. Then, I rested my head and fell asleep.

Day 1-The Things

Hello...my name is Sir Reginald Biedgar. I am a knight and have been for the last 2 years in the English Knight Guild. For the entire time from when I became a knight everything was going fine. That was until a few nights ago...when everything changed. For the last few weeks I had been called to several jobs that required the investigation of small villages. All of which were inhabited with...well that's just the thing, they weren't inhabited with anything. All that we would find were some blood stains, or maybe a limb or two. Usually we would think this would just be a normal case of the plague. But if it was, there would still be bodies. After about a week or so of getting those calls, I started to get a little worried, but it seemed like none of my other fellow knights seemed concerned; but I was. A few days later I was in my keep preparing to get some sleep, when something strange happened. I heard noises. Moaning and screams. I decided to investigate the issue and looked out my window. What I saw next was terrible. People getting trampled by hoards of bloody people...getting torn apart. Women and children screaming and being carried away by guards which would soon also be torn apart by those...things. I knew I had to do something, but I also knew that going down to the ground level was an absolute way to get killed. And if I tried to fire arrows down on them, I would be sure to cause them to try to get to me. But the screams and moans of the people soon overcame my dear and I decided to take my duty as a knight and go downstairs to assist them. I knew I would need help and I decided to go to my fellow knights room next door and find out what was going on. I walked out of my room and up to his door, only to find it barred shut. I slammed on his door several times calling his name telling him that we needed to help. Still no response. All I could think of was how much of a coward he was. I was sure none of those things had gotten up here, and I knew he was just too scared to follow the oath under which he became a knight. No matter. I decided to still help out. I opened the locked door that led to to the stairs to find hundreds of those things running up the stairs. I knew I couldn't take them myself and ran back to my room down the hallway and shut the door. I slid my bookcase in front of the door and locked the door. Moments later I heard the screams of my fellow knight as he was torn apart and murdered. Next I heard the pounding at my door, but I knew they couldn't get in...I hoped they couldn't. Now, here I am writing at my desk waiting for something to happen. Maybe rescue. Maybe they will leave. Still, I knew that they wouldn't leave and I knew rescue wouldn't come. I looked at the moon from my window and thought of way to get out.
